Our local students are amazing! The Canby Rotary Foundation awarded 23 scholarships totaling $36,000 for the coming school year. Since 2000, the foundation has awarded 360 scholarships totaling over $350,000.
For the sixth year, DirectLink has provided funds for the Don Peterson Memorial Scholarship. Don was a founding member of the Canby Rotary Foundation and served on the DirectLink Board of Directors for many years. This year’s recipient of the $1,500 scholarship is Ainsley Beck!
The Rotary Foundation also administers the annually awarded DirectLink scholarship fund, presenting five new scholarships to high school students. Recipients this year were high school seniors Elsa Anderson, Gonzalo Rodriguez, and Drew Wright, who each received a $1,500 award; Kaleb Blaschke and Kellie Peters also earned scholarships for $1,000 each. In addition to scholarships for local students looking to further their education, current college students received funds this year as well. Allison Odell received $1,500, while Rachel Bigej and Trevor Taylor each received $1,000.
